Our #StetChat team is speaking at ACES #VCON26 at 3:15 p.m. ET on Friday, Sept. 18. #VCON26 is ACES: The Society for Editing’s 2026 virtual conference.
Join Carolina VonKampen, Raquel Brown, and Rachel Lapidow for our panel “Red Flag Roulette Live! Navigating Difficult Conversations With Authors and Clients.”
Here’s a sneak peek:
Plagiarism. Undisclosed AI use. A character spewing racial slurs. What would you do if you encountered these red flag situations as an editor?
Building off their popular Bluesky #StetChat format, freelance editors Carolina VonKampen, Rachel Lapidow, and Raquel Brown will host a live Red Flag Roulette session. We’ll begin the session by discussing how we’ve handled red flag clients and difficult editing situations we’ve encountered, then we’ll open the floor to audience questions. Audience members can submit red flag questions live, and the panelists will brainstorm how we’d handle the tricky situations. Audience participation in the chat is highly encouraged. Together, we will hive-mind our way out of red flags!
ACES #VCON26 attendees, come say hi during our session at 3:15 p.m. ET on Friday, Sept. 18.
