Red Flag Roulette is a format of #StetChat in which we’ll pose questions about hypothetical red flag clients and difficult editing situations, and we’ll talk about how you’d deal with them. Together, we will hive-mind our way out of red flags!
Got a hypothetical red flag client or difficult editing situation that you want to see discussed in a future #StetChat Red Flag Roulette?
Submit it anonymously here, and we may use it in an upcoming Red Flag Roulette #StetChat.
Red Flag Roulette FAQ
Yes, you will be 100% anonymous. The only people with access to your submission are Carolina VonKampen, Raquel Brown, and Rachel Lapidow, and they will anonymize your submission before sharing it with anyone else.
We will not publicly share anyone’s real name with their red flag submission. We will also anonymize the red flag situation. We won’t use the real names of companies or people, and we may change identifying info to protect your privacy.
The situation can be based on a real experience you had with an author/client or an editing situation you ran into. We recommend anonymizing it and shortening it to one or two sentences that can fit into a Bluesky post.
Or, if you’re so inclined and curious, you can make up a situation that you’ve always wondered about. Or compose a composite red flag that represents a type of situation you’ve faced before.
285 characters max, please, but shorter is better! If your submission is longer, we may edit and shorten it at our discretion to fit into the Bluesky post.
If we receive multiple red flag submissions that are similar, we may combine them into a composite red flag question. Unique submissions with juicy details have a higher likelihood of making it to the chat.
